Pray without ceasing

Sa Sa!

Last week we took a break from teaching at the KAG school and went on a prayer walk through a place called Eastleigh. “Little Somalia” is also another name for Eastleigh because it is highly populated with Muslims.  A small group of us went through this area on a prayer walk.  We walked through many mud puddles, trash piles, and exhaust  from the cars going past.  We had many interesting looks from the people of the area and got to evangelize some.  We got to the hub, the heartbeat, of the town and stopped on a corner.  We got in a circle and decided to pray out loud and pronounce the name of Jesus in the place and pray over the people who live there. We were told by our Kenyan friends that Somalies are very hostile and aggressive so we prayed out loud like we were having a conversation with each other.  As we started to pray out loud and speak life and Jesus into the market place the Muslim prayers came on the intercom from the Mosque near by.  I felt the Holy Spirit move so much within me.  I knew that the Name that I was praying out loud is the most powerful word and name to ever be and it filled me with so much joy that we were speaking the Shepherds name onto the place and people.  People were stopping and looking at us; looking over our shoulders and trying to see what we were talking about and we just kept praying.  Prayer is our direct line to God the Creator and it is  very powerful and effective. It was at that moment that I understood how powerful it really was and it gave me a new conviction to pray without ceasing for the people in Eastleigh.

I am learning so much and experiencing so much.  There are many many many other stories about how the Holy Spirit is moving through us all.  I feel as if I am being blessed by Africa much more than I am blessing Africa – oh how He loves us so!

Blessings and love,
