What beautiful faces!! Hello everyone:)
Not sure what to write about this time so I’ll just recap some stuff we’ve done. We’ve been doing a food fast the past couple of weeks it’s been really good. Just been eating a slice of bread for breakfast and lunch. Also we were doing a communication fast, still doing that one. I’ve learned the most threw that. Really realizing that God’s the one that really holds the solution to what’s going on in our lives and trusting in his will.
The word surrender has come up alot lately. Really surrendering to him and trusting that his way is the way. This past week I felt really overwhelmed by God. We went to one of the slums here and did pretty intense healing prayers over Anthony, a man with symptoms like epilepsy. Afterwards I really felt defeated. We went to a prayer meeting later that night at the Church and I was praying to God. “You’re too much for me. You’re overwhelming I can’t handle you” I just felt like he was too much for me. Later that night I realized that yeah, he’s the harder way but hes the BETTER way. No matter what. It can be scary to follow him but its definitely the better way. It’s the way of love and he only wants to prosper you. I felt bad for thinking he wasn’t enough or thinking that he wasn’t love. I know that even if it’s the harder way, the more sacrificial way it’s the better way always. It’s hard to really talk about this over a blog but it was a big realization for me that night.
We went to Kibera yesterday. I love the kids! They’re so beautiful. We placed basketball and danced around. Got a really good video of them all dancing. One of them was wearing a spice girls t-shirt “Spice Up Your Life”
Also I’ve been reading a book called Authentic Beauty, Kelli read it! I think you would love it. It’s helped me alot with reminding me about purity and the beauty of trusting God. It’s amazing what he’s been speaking to all of us.
Hi family!! Mom I hope you had fun in San Fran excited to hear more about it:) Also where’s Dad at on this thing?! I haven’t heard from him yet ..tell him to comment I really want to hear from him. Thinking about you guys alot. Danielle that’d be so SWEET it you got to go to Morocco! I really hope you do ..might as well. Glad you’re having fun in Spain, still can’t believe that we’re all scattered around the world this summer! Such a blessing. Heather I learned that “Pendo” means love in swahili I know he spells his name when an A but still it reminded me of you 🙂 I love you guys all so much thank you for reading this it really means more than I can say. Excited to meet back up and get everyone’s update about the past couple months.
