in Masaai land

We just spoke with the Kenya leaders.  They are out in the bush without internet access, but we thought we'd update you on how things are going out there until they can blog for themselves after September 23rd.

They are with the Masaai tribe in a remote village called Tangi-tatu.  The team is staying at the church that was estabilished there by our host.  The weather is warm during the days and pretty chilly at night.  The leaders said there is lots of layering of clothes being implemented each evening.  But besides the extreme weather, the team is loving this area.

Each day they venture out into the village, going door to door to visit people.  They split up into small groups for this and are able to meet people, hear their stories, encourage them, and pray with them.  There have been a few people come to Christ as they shared the hope of the Gospel with them.  Today they had the opportunity to pray for a blind 10 year old girl.  They are believing God for her complete healing.

In the evenings they host fellowships at the church where someone on the team will give a testimony and another teammate will preach.  They sing and dance, typical of Masaai culture and the team is enjoying learning some new moves.  🙂

Their time with the Masaai has been very family oriented.  They often invite families over for dinner, and then worship together, encourage each other, and pray with each other.

The team will have internet access again when they return to Kijabe on September 23rd.  As we talk to them we will be posting updates here in the meantime.

Thank you for your prayers and encouragement for this team and their leader.
