Now two months into this trip, God has blessed our team abundantly both in personal walks with Christ and with ministry. In the six weeks we've spend at the three different tribes, we've seen 100 people saved: 17 in the Maasai tribe, 16 in Kikuyu, and 67 in Pokot. With just one month of the trip remaining, we've had “double fruitfulness” prophesied over our team. Though we all realize this last month will fly by, God's not finished with us yet. Amazing things are coming to our team!
Even as we head home, I know God will continue to use us all for His glory. For me, this will certainly come true as I'm headed off to another trip exactly one month after returning home. This time, God is sending me to Nicaragua for four months on another AIM trip. I have full confidence that God will bless that ministry just as abundantly as He's blessed this one. But, I need your support both prayerfully and financially to continue this journey. Please pray for me, my future teammates, and the ministry in Nicaragua. If you are able and willing, please consider supporting me. Just click the “Support Me” link on the upper left hand corner of this page. Then enter my name, Allegra Forwith, and the name of the program, Passport. Thank you to everyone who has supported our team with prayers and finances! Thank you in advance to all those who will support me and Team Nicaragua!
One of the many things God has revealed to me on this trip is His plan for my future. Ministry is not just for this trip or the next one; it is for life. In the future, after schooling and training, God has called me back to Africa. This year of mission trips is merely a platform for a lifetime of mission work in the bush of Kenya. On this trip, God has given me a heart for the sick, orphans, and tribal people that will lead me back to Kenya. I hope to build and run a small hospital and orphanage in the bush where no other missionaries go, serving and ministering to the forgotten tribes. God has raised me up to lead, to do the seemingly impossible. But I know that with God all things are possible! Call me crazy, sure! Call me radical, definitely! In the eyes of the world my vision is crazy, but not in the eyes of God. Romans 12:2 says, “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
As Christians, we're called out of living as the world tells us to in order to live as Jesus did. We must break out of the world's pattern in order to serve God and be transformed by Him. For me, this means giving up the “American dream” in exchange for God's dream for me. It took coming to Kenya for me to fully accept this vision, break free of the world's pattern, and move forward in obedience. Please know that your prayers and support are not in vain. I may not have discovered this vision if not for this trip. Please support me…God's just not finished with me yet!
