First impressions

Hello,

We finally leave tomorrow for africa, which is pretty exciting, but i’ll give a quick recap of what has happened so far. We arrived in Atlanta and almost immediately went out onto the streets to just be with the homeless people. I was expecting to be talking to dozens of them, so when we walked around for several hours having only one meaningful conversation I was a little disappointed. After my groups debrief I realized this is what the trip is going to be like, long hours, a lot of walking, just for the chance to talk to one person.

We only stayed in Atlanta one day and then left for training camp about an hour outside Atlanta. We’ve spent a lot of time on things like community, expectations and freedom. The team building stuff has been good. Our team is pretty awesome, I’m glad that there are three other guys because I was a little worried there was only one. Anyway, five girls, four guys and two leaders. I’m positive it is going to be an incredible time as we get to know each other better.
God bless,
Neal
