So in my last post I talked about Hillary….come to find out her name is actually Gertrude. Her brother is named Hillary so when I asked him what his little sister’s name was, he answered his own. We got to go to her “house” in the slum next to the school. It is near Eastleigh, and Gertrude’s mother has 3 children of her own. She also takes care of 5 other children that were her sister who was beaten to death. So all 8 children and this lady live in a room about 5′ x 8′ no lie. They must sleep on top of each other because it’s impossible for 9 people to all lay down in that room. It broke my heart to know that my little one lives there.
This week we’ve been in Kiserian (you can google it) doing yardwork at a church replant and sharing Jesus with the people around. It’s hard. Kenyans are so different than Americans so please pray that these people will be sincere with us through their speech.
