So we are to keep these short… I am not sure what to write about… But here is what I have learned so far.
God is so good and so big.
Oh I think I have it. Worship. The first day we were here we were at the place we are staying and after breakfast our wonderful hosts came and thought we should start off with a time of worship. Well this time of worship turned in to like an hour or two of worship to the song oh how he loves. It was wonderful and a great expression or God’s love for us. We were just able to pray for each other and encourage each other. I have to say the holy spirit was very present. God is so big here.
People are driven to dependence on him daily. I love how he moves and heals.
Other things I have learned.
– Here it is ok to be blunt. You don’t have to dance around the issue.
– we are staying in a hostel instead of tents
– Monkeys are every where
– Our hosts are amazing. – We have already learned so much from them and we have not even been here that long.
– the food is wonderful
– they speak more English than I thought they would.
Guys I can’t even put into words what I have experienced so far. I have learned that my dependence on God is not as much has it should be. I am daily amazed at how people depend on the Lord for everything from rent money, to safety, to food. I pray that I will find this dependence one day too. I am for still searching and praying that this becomes me. I think that we have made life in America so easy and safe that we no longer feel the need for dependence, but I tell you the dependence here drives you to further fall in love with God. He is so big and can handle all our needs. I think that it is a cool thought. That we no longer have to carry our own needs and let that drive and control our actions and therefore our lives. We can give them over to God become dependent on him and let him drive our actions. I pray this for you and for me. That we would become people that trust that God’s way is best and that we become dependent on him.
Oh my. I have learned much and can’t wait for what else I will learn here. Sorry for the poorly written and organized blog. I will make the next one better. I love you all!
