God’s Love

I have a quick second to tell you about what I have been learning…it’s simple but something I am really just starting to understand. Ok here goes: GOD LOVES ME…A LOT.  I’m talking He gave Heaven’s best to have a relationship with me. His love is perfect and I want to love the way He does. God is blowing my mind with this concept and He keeps reminding me of His unending love.  This got me thinking that if God sacrificed the best He had for me then why shouldn’t I give Him the best I have everyday?       Love you all and see...

Shopping

I never want to shop again…. going to a market is so stressful.  (Mom, you would have a migraine for weeks)  We went to a Maasai market, kind of like a flea market feeling, yesterday.  It was in the parking lot.  We walk up to a sea of vendors… and immediately everyone starts calling me over… “Sister, come come.”  “I give you good price.”  At first I was very interested and listening to what everyone said to me… but after 3 different people all telling me I was their first customer and trying to charge me 3x...

Maasai Warrior Wannabe

Mambo!!!  So this week I don’t really have anything planned to blog about this time around.  In explanation of the title, I now have just about everything I need to be a Maasai warrior…. minus the major skills and ability to speak Maasai and Kiswahili.  From that I have to say, bargaining is sooo much fun.  The past two days we have gone to the market to get little nick nacks for family and friends ;).  On a more serious topic I feel like I should talk about my growth in my relationship with the Lord.  Since I have been on this trip I have really...

What do you do when you catch a mosqweeeto?

This week we went to a boys school in Isinya; which was where 16 boys from troubled pasts have come and received an education and Bible classes/training. We got to hear some of their testimonies and how much they’ve grown as a result of knowing Christ. We also got to play futbol (soccer) with them! We only lost by one point-holla holla! We also helped them fetch water from a well like a half a mile away. I felt like a real African woman because I carried the bucket back on my head. It was exciting to just get to encourage them in their faiths and to let them know that we cared about...

WE’RE SLOSHIN!!!!!

Okay, so being a visual learner I learn best by examples of real life situations that I can imagine… so prepare yourself for this actual life example and how I tie it into my daily walk with Christ.   This past week we went to a boys center called “Hope Center”, its a place where men take boys off the streets and disciple them and give them a free education and after two years they graduate and go back to their homes to make a better life for themselves with Christ as their center.  So at Hope Center we were asked to carry water from a storage holder about a half...
