Maasai Warrior Wannabe

Mambo!!!  So this week I don’t really have anything planned to blog about this time around.  In explanation of the title, I now have just about everything I need to be a Maasai warrior…. minus the major skills and ability to speak Maasai and Kiswahili.  From that I have to say, bargaining is sooo much fun.  The past two days we have gone to the market to get little nick nacks for family and friends ;).  On a more serious topic I feel like I should talk about my growth in my relationship with the Lord.  Since I have been on this trip I have really...

Shopping

I never want to shop again…. going to a market is so stressful.  (Mom, you would have a migraine for weeks)  We went to a Maasai market, kind of like a flea market feeling, yesterday.  It was in the parking lot.  We walk up to a sea of vendors… and immediately everyone starts calling me over… “Sister, come come.”  “I give you good price.”  At first I was very interested and listening to what everyone said to me… but after 3 different people all telling me I was their first customer and trying to charge me 3x...

God is blowing my mind with this concept and He keeps reminding me of His unending love.  This got me thinking that if God sacrificed the best He had for me then why shouldn’t I give Him the best I have everyday?       Love you all and see...

Photo Blog…

I spent all last night resizing a few pictures for our blog time today.  Enjoy!  I hope you like them…   Walking to the river with the school kids in hopes of seeing hippos and wildlife… Posing with Fred and Daniel… the bus drivers. Helping the kids across a stream… Elizabeth and Me infront of the “animals” we went to see… there were none. After Church in Kiserian, we decided to create a band.  Here we held a photo shoot for our album cover… Me and Omosh… He is one of the biggest...

Photo Blog (Last, Part 3)…

Our 4th of July “Bash…”  Complete with watermelon, burgers, and 3-legged races.  None of us had ever been so proud to be American. Amy Jo and Eliz enjoying some fresh fruit… in the middle of our fast.  Delicious. Traday and Clair, soaking in all the excitement! Me, Daniel, and Eliz.  All the Kenyans claimed to be American at the bash. The whole American team.  One of our only full team pictures.   Kenya is so amazing, and God is even more amazing.  This summer has been such a blessing to each of us and I am just trying to...
