Habari (ha BA ree)

It basically means how are you in Swahili.  All of our new friends in Kenya speak English, but they want to teach us a little Swahili too.  I talked with nice seat partners as we flew for about 19ish hours.  I’m in Nairobi now at a church that we will be working with.  I’ll write more next time when I have more time.   Sarah

Life lesson 1: Always close all flaps and zippers to your tent.

HI HI!   GEORGIA! Yay! Claire and I arrived in Atlanta Friday afternoon to find our Kenya team there! We met our new family for the next two months and really…the rest of our lives. We have all become so close already and the team dynamic is really working out in our favor! Praise Jesus for new friendships and life long memories that are already being made. Mr. Eddie Conely

I don’t have much time, so I’m going to try to make this quick! In the process of doing so I might skip a lot of details; bear with me! So, Friday afternoon I arrived in ATL. I met my team and figured we’d soon be heading to training camp. Instead we were given $20 and some instructions: get to the 89 Ellis Street, Atlanta GA. The task was simple, but exciting. The excitement of meeting of everyone in person for the first time, taking a train through the amazing city (Yes, I love the city, graffiti and all), and realizing I packed too much stuff as I trekked from location...

Georgiaaaa, Georgia

Jambo! (Swahili for Hello)   My team and I have spent the last three and a half days in Georgia being equipped with the training and knowledge that we are going to make a lasting impact in Kenya. The last few days have been eye-opening and spiritually challenging, as I have had to deal with many areas of my life I had yet to fully surrender to the Lord. I have been keeping a journal and each day writing a list of cool things that we did each day….and I seriously have filled it UP! When first arriving at Atlanta, I was able to meet the rest of the team and we were able to...

God Blesses!

Hey all, Today is my first official blog!  I am going to talk a little bit about what God has done so far.  Our training camp is a 4 day camp where my team of 16 (plus two leaders) and around 140 other college aged students bond.  There are around 10 different countries that are going to be touched by God through these groups such as Peru, Uganda, India, and Kenya.  God is doing great things by bringing all of these individuals together for one purpose.    To share God’s LOVE.  After training, we are leaving tonight to stay the night in the Atlanta...
