A Higher Education

  Worry implies that we don’t quite trust that God is big enough, powerful enough, or loving enough to take care of what’s happening in our lives. Stress says that the things we are involved in are important enough to merit our impatience, our lack of grace toward others, or our tight grip of control. Both worry and stress reek of arrogance. FAST

I have decided fasting got its name either because when people are fasting they want it to go by FAST or because when it is finally over you eat everything you see really FAST.    A few weeks ago our leaders decided the group needed to fast.  Our meals consisted of one slice of bread with butter or jelly for breakfast and one slice of bread with peanut butter for lunch.  I was already hungry all the time because the portions were so small that lessening our food intake angered my flesh.  Our group fed  (no pun intended) off each other’s negativity and I...

Slow to Speak… Thanks, Expedition Team

This is what I’ve been learning through our fast from one full meal a day, no spending personal money, and no communication except through the blog. This fast helped me pray more, but it wasn’t extremely challenging for me, cuz I think I’m in my element.
