Something that I have struggled with for awhile is recognizing when God is speaking to me and distinguishing if it is me or God speaking. I felt like God didn't speak to me and I would always compare myself to other people on the team. Like why is she hearing so much from God and I don't hear anything! I made this struggle know to the team and Nikki told me that I do hear from God! She told me that tomorrow I would recieve a word from God about someone. So the next day, when we were in the hospital kitchen washing dishes, she asked if I had a word yet. I said that I need to be in quite time because I can't double task!!Talking to God and washing dishes!!!ahhh So Emily G. started talking to me while we were washing dishes together about hearing from God. She explained to me that when you are having a conversation with someone, you can also be having a conversation God. It's like when you breath in, talk to the person, and when you breathe out, talk to God. So I tried that out while we were washing dishes and I did receive a word!I don't know who the word was for or if it meant anything to that person, but I spoke it out. That is another thing that I have been learning about hearing from God. That when you do hear something from God about someone, speak it out, no matter how stupid it sounds. This is definitely something that I really struggle with because I don't want to look like a fool!haha but once its out of your mouth, it's now in their hands to pray about it and see if that is really what God is saying to them.
One night, we did 12 hour prayer from 8 at night to 8 in the morning. Each team member had an hour time slot. So from 5-6 AM, I was in prayer. I was able to pray for the whole hour, which is the longest I have ever prayed in my life!! God just kept giving me things to pray for!so yeah, i've learned that God DOES speak to me and I DO hear Him!!
