I love the Maasai! I love the people, the stars at night and lifestyle…" Hakuna matata"
For the last two weeks we have been living in our tents outside the Tangi Tatu church in Massai land. Our ministry here was visiting huts. We shared the gospel to those who haven't heard, we prayed for healing and prosperity.
My mom had some questions, so here are answers.
1. How long were you out in the bush.
-Two weeks
2. Did you feel safe?
-Yes, we had guards who would sleep outside and stay with us all night
3. See any interesting creatures?
-Lizards, giant spider and weird looking flying bugs
4. Is your tent keeping you dry?
Yes, some Massai men put a huge yellow tent over all our tents
5. Do you sleep okay on your sleeping pad?
Yes
6. Did you have some rain recently? Yes, everyday it rained for a couple of hours! Praise God, because the Massaai have been praying for rain
Another thing the Maasai has been praying for was the schools. The public schools in Kenya have been closed due to teachers on strike because the government refuses to pay them well. *Monday, September 24 the schools opened again! Praise God
Favorites during the two weeks with the Maasai:
-I love watching them sing and dance
– health
– rain and rainbows
– the stars at night!
– awesome,new friends
– roasted maze
– hiking up mountains
– long walks going hut to hut
– lots of smiles and laughter
I miss all my friends already! I know God will provide and will bring them prosperity. He has the power to heal and comfort. God has given the Maasai a peace and assurance to trust HIM always. The Maasai have servants hearts and God will bless them. I am thankful I have had a chance to meet such beautiful people.
My JOY is anchored in Christ and in his victory,
RACHEL
