What a wonderful day! I am striving to be a warrior for Christ. I am learning to rejoice like Paul through the lies that satan throws my way. God has been revealing so many wonderful things and I can tell that the evil one doesn’t like it. But as scripture says, this gives me that much more of a reason to rejoice in Christ name!!
While I am here in Kenya I feel so blessed because one of the things I get to do is hug on kids all the time. It’s been a blessing and a challenge to figure out how to show love and interact with the little kids without using words. (Because they don’t know how to speak English). A friend once challenged me with this thought, “Could you change a life for the Kingdom without using one word?” (paraphrased but by Adam Rogg) I learned this week how to connect with the kids by my actions. I like kids, but the way God has allowed me to connect with kids here in Africa is awesome. He has given me more compassion and eagerness to love on them.
Also, I have been blessed back home (in America) to make some very precious friendships with two lovely ladies named Lauren Herren and Hailey Manear, who have cerebral palsy. The first week I was here in Africa I met a girl named Ruth. Ruth is a two and half year old little girl who has cerebral palsy as well! As I was holding the precious little girl it reminded me of how God is totally in control among the hard situation. This little girl Ruth reminded me of all the ways I am blessed by my two friends back home Hailey and Lauren. I love you two ladies, and I pray that God can keep using you two to bless others as much as both of you have blessed me.
Please, pray for Ruth! She is a little one that the doctors didn’t think would survive. Her parents take her to therapy regularly but any trip to the doctor cost money. So pray that God will provide the financial support to keep taking her to the doctors. Also, be in prayer for Ruth’s parents who love this little girl and are fighting to give her the best life possible with her physical condition.
I want to thank every person who throughout my life has shown love to me. Because the impact everyone has had on my life is flowing out from me to all the little kids around me. I am so loved, and I hope the kids I get to hug on, play with or talk to feel the same kind of love (through me) that was first given to me by you.
